Job Description
The Role: We're on the lookout for a dedicated In-house Solicitor to join our existing team of seven solicitors and two legal executives on a full time permanent basis.
This is a dynamic role that will grow and change as Elgin does. We’re in a growth period and it’s a genuinely exciting time to join. You'll get to support every part of our operations, with a special focus on advising our project delivery and services teams.
You'll report to our Senior Legal Counsel in Dublin. The role offers flexibility to work from our Dublin or Central London office with typically 4 days in the office and 1 day from home.
What you will do: - Provide dedicated legal support on power generation projects, including solar PV, battery storage, and voltage optimisation.
- Support the construction, grid, asset management, and trading teams in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a range of complex commercial issues, project development, construction, operations, and/or offtake contracts across all jurisdictions.
- Offer commercially focused legal advice and develop and maintain a strong and current understanding of the renewable energy industry.
- Advise on general business law issues across all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, pre-construction consents, regulatory, safety, security, insurance, and sustainability issues.
- Liaise with internal teams to review due diligence reports.
- Support development funding, project finance, and other funding arrangements.
- Assist in corporate matters, including joint ventures, asset sales, and acquisitions.
- Review and advise on commercial contracts, such as NDAs, letters of engagement, and agreements with third-party suppliers.
- Provide ad hoc advice on a range of issues.
- Manage and instruct external counsel.
